Yeah, this is pretty much what happened to me. They asked for Zoe. I said, "There's no Zoe here," and they responded rather rudely, "OK, there is no message. We'll just try back. Thanks." That doesn't even make any sense. Why would they try back if it's a wrong number. Almost certainly a scam of some sort.
OK, I googled the number and it's listed as the number for Balbuena Medicine and Spa, and also for bail bonds. That's right, just " bail bonds" not "Jacks Bail Bonds" or "get-you-out-quick bail bonds". And now several people are saying the phone number is identified as "fundraising". For what, spa bills, bail money?. I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say you should probably not turn to these jokers for bail or spa services, and if you feel a need to be charitable do your research and find a reputable charity. Oh, and don't answer when they call.
Update: out of curiosity I went back to look at the listings for the "spa" and the "bail bonds". No info other than address and phone for the bail bonds business, no reviews although the site allows for them. The Balbuena Spa listing gave more info, including revenue, time in business, and number of employees. The last bit of info caught my attention. 2 employees. They're running a spa with 2 employees. LOL
When I picked up, the caller said, "Is James there?" I replied with, "There's no 'James' at this number. You must have the wrong number." He said, "No James? That's okay. Maybe you can then make a donation to the disabled veterans foundation?" Not that I have anything against disabled vets, but I replied, "You realize the number you just called is registered with the National DNC registry?" He immediately hung up. This number is now blocked.
