They just called my father-in-law and told him he had "2 hours to appear." ( sorry dude...california subpeona's don't work like that!) They then immediately called my husband and left a voicemail. They're pretending to be a legal process server. She stated to my husband in the voicemail, that they worked on behalf of LOS, that they have failed 3 times delivering official documents, and there will continue to be furth legal repercussions if he doesn't call back today and reschedule delivery of documents- Call us back at this number in reference this complaint number.
We had a similar call like this a couple months ago, only a lady was pretending to be an attorney in the state of California by the name of "Alexis Phillips". Non existent, I looked it up via the state. (Illegal to do this by the way). She called and harassed my elderly father-in law, then my husband. Very much like this case.
Point being, All this is, is an aggressive debt collection agency. The way it works however, is the very second the person they are requesting, calls back and references the case/complaint number, they legally can "re-open" your debt and continue negatively reporting you for an additional 7 years. The reason they are likely all of a sudden contacting people now, is because their time limit is up on reporting to the credit bureau. Whatever you do, do NOT call back!!!!!!!!!!!!'!!!!!!!
I just received the same call and about a month ago I received the call saying I had 2 hours to call this number because he has a subpoena that was attempted to be served.. Then gave me a number and case number so I don't miss my court date...
