I received the same message. When I called back, the representative continued to threaten me with legal action. I then asked why I have not been notified in writing prior to these allegations and he just rambled about be suffering from the law and hung up... What a strange start to the morning!
The IRS does not need to sue anyone. They send you first class letters delivered by the Post Office. Several of them. Ignore those, and they then send certified letters that you need to sign for. Again delivered by the Post Office. Ignore those and they simply freeze your bank accounts and anything else you own. If they can do that, then why would they bother with a court case that might take them years before they get in front of a judge? They also do not bother arresting people for a few thousand dollars for the same reasons I have already given. The IRS does not accept payment in Itunes Cards, Amazon gift cards, or any other type of payment other than cash, check, credit or debit card (from normal everyday citizens).

This is a scam. A recording from a Spanish speaker accent threatening action from the IRS. Completely bogus. That is not how IRS proceeds. They always contact by mail asking for clarification or pointing an error out. Usually I don't answer numbers I don't recognize.
yep - I received two calls and two threatening messages from same number this morning, 9/9. I blocked the number on my iphone. I tried reporting it to IRS, but their vm box for fraud reporting is full!
Yeah I got the same message today while at work. These unintelligent, ignorant, vacuous [***]!! tried taking me for almost 5k. If you get a call from them just play them back. I stared to act like i dont speak good English. And give them a hard time. Dont worry there is no one coming to arrest you, and your bank account are not going to freeze. Dame scammers!!!!
