This is a scam trying to get people's credit card info.
Just got a call from this number saying they were from "my" credit card company (didnt mention the bank by name or ask for me by name), offering to lower my interest rate.
I asked which credit card company they were calling from, he named about 5 national banks and claimed they represented all of them. Neither of my credit cards were from any of those he listed, which I told him.
He then claimed they represented other banks too and asked what company I had. I didn't tell him but asked again where he was calling from. He again said they represent lots of banks and said he was calling about a card with a $3,000 balance and over 10% interest. Again, this matched neither of my cards.
I told him it sounded like a scam which obviously annoyed him. He became irritated and started protesting but I told him again it was an obvious scam and he wouldn't get my credit card info and hung up.
I also got a phone call from 323-318-3008 @ 9:21 AM, it showed "California", answered it and was nothing but music so hung up. Don't know who or what it was but will be listed as spam so as to never answer it again.
I received a call on my cell phone from this number. The recording identified them as "Account Services" and stated that they are calling about my "credit card account". They went on to say, "there are currently no problems but you can lower your interest rate", press 1 to speak with a rep, or 2 to discontinue further calls.
I get this same type of call literally once or twice a day from "Account Services" on my land line. I have tried telling them to take me off their list, but they continue to call. I have tried blowing a whistle in the phone when the rep picks up, but they still call. Now, when a call comes in from them, I simply answer and immediately hang up, not allowing them to play the recording, in hopes that they will eventually stop calling, thinking it is a non-working number. I am not sure if it will work or not, but I don't know what else to try.
Recording states that my credit card is eligible for a lower rate. I pressed 1 and a person came on the phone. I told him I was on the no call list and not to call anymore.
