"Someone" did - ME! I only wised up AFTER I responded - so of course now I'll probably get all kinds of junk calls. Luckily, since Craigslist uses anonymous e-mail addresses the slimeball shouldn't be able to link the phone & email.
Original message (in response to a furniture ad) is the same as everyone else has reported:
"Can i have your final price for the listed item. Sorry to bother you i can only
receive text (323 -388-5669) Thanks for your co-operation."
And thanks for your suggestion about responding to craigs list with the option at the bottom of the email, Tricia - not sure if it will do any good, but its worth a shot!
I'm in the Boston area, got the same story on a CL posting. Phone # and only text message. I did not reply. Whoever it is wants our phone numbers. No doubt for nefarious purposes. SCAM!
