I'm assuming this is a debt collector, although I'm not entirely sure. I have had a magicjack telephone number that was my full-time phone # for a couple of years about 4 years ago, since then it is just being used to forward to my cell phone. Someone named AL continuously calls this number and keeps threatening me because I am "impeding his investigation" by not giving him my EX-WIFE's phone number or address, neither of which I know. Now he has found out that we have a son who lives in the area and assumes (rightly) that he is in touch with his mother, but I'm not willing to give him my son's information so he can continually harass my son and his family the way he has done to me. I've asked him repeatedly to stop calling me and offered to fax him PROOF that I'm divorced (after 29 years of marriage) from the person he's looking for, but he just calls me a liar and then hangs up and calls back within a few days saying the same thing each time he calls "My name is Al and I'm calling to let you know that we'll be coming to serve <ex-wife> with papers today and I need to speak with her immediately" and each time I tell him Al, we're divorced, we have been since March of 2013 and I couldn't get in touch with her even IF I wanted to. He calls me a liar, lather, rinse, repeat.
I keep getting calls .. and they call more than once a day..from 323-393-1028. so when I didn't answer yesterday what did they do.. called my mother who is well in her 80's and told her they needed to serve me a summons..and what did she do, fell for it !! I told my mom, listen..the courts or process servers just don't call you to let you know they need to s...erve you. I said mom think about this ... she said by gollie your right.. then she came back at me and said but I don't want you to have a summons or a warrant for you..then I let her know by them calling you and giving you info they violated my privacy act. and I told her that I had already made a complain with the Attorney General of Missouri..done deal...
Don't believe a word of what they say, its all lies.And they have numerous ph numbers, I have blocked 4 already, they just change the number. They don't me I had a payday loan fm st Louis on an old email address, I wasn't in st Louis on the dates they said and email address has been They fir over 5 yrs. They are liars and try to scare you, DONT GIVE ANY INFO TO THEM
They call me often but they use different numbers from different states as well. One of them even tried to play being a law officer, which I called the authorities about. Every time I have been caught on the phone, I ask them to please send information about this and they never do. So I ask the guy, " you call me up all the time, telling me I owe you money. You can't tell me why, you can't send me any papers, etc...you just call and threaten to serve people to see what happens I guess."
Told him if he wanted money, I need to get him with this guy in Africa. He will give him $2,000,000 for free, all he has to do is give him his banking info. Report these frauds to the FTC and shut down this nonsense!
they call and dont say who they are or anything..just say whos home tomorrow to recieve court papers they are serving you with..told them i need to knwo who its for and who they are..they hang up
