Same thing, calls and threats from this number. I do have an email with what looks like "company letterhead" told him to cease calling and that I would only deal with him through email. Got one additional email so far asking me to pay the "balance". Told him to send me proof that I owed something.
FIRST OF ALL THE GUY I TALKED TO HAD A MIDDLE EASTERN ACCENT AND BARELY SPOKE ENGLISH SAID HIS NAME WAS SHAWN WOODS (WITH THIS SPELLING) FORM THE LAW OFFICES OF C.WILLIAMS LAW FIRM. I CALLED THE ATTORNEY SEARCH NETWORK AND THEY SAID THAT THE ONLY ATTORNEY THEY HAVE IS SAN FRANCISCO AND THAT HIS NAME IS SPELLED DIFFERENT AND THE CALL CAME FROM LOS ANGELES AREA. THEY ALSO SAID THAT THERE WAS NO RECORD OF THIS LAW FIRM AND THAT THE SHAWN WOODS WAS NOT ASSOCIATED WITH THE CALIFORNIA BAR ASSOCIATION. HE THREATENED TO HAVE MY LOCAL POLICE COME AND ARREST MY HUSBAND FOR A ON-LINE LOAN THAT HE NEVER GOT. TOLD HIM TO GO GET A WALMART PREPAID DEBIT CARD AND TO SEND HIM THE CARD NUMBER ALONG WITH A PHOTOCOPY OF HIS DRIVERS LICENSE. THEY SAID THAT HE HAD TAKEN THE LOAN FROM CASH ADVANCEUSA (WHICH HAS A F RATING WITH THE BBB) AND THAT IT WAS TAKEN OUT ON SEPT 22 2011 LESS THAN A MONTH AGO. THEY CALLED HERE 10 TIMES TODAY ALONE AND THE LAST TIME HE CALLED I TOLD HIM THAT I KNEW HE WAS A SCAM AND THAT I HAD CONTACTED THE BBB, MY ATTORNEY GENERAL, THE CALIFORNIA BAR ASSOCIATION, MY LAWYER AND THE POLICE HE HUNG UP ON MY. I HOPE THEY NEVER CALL BACK.
Received a call at work stating that there was a warrant out for my arrest and that there were loans I had taken out and never paid back. This is not the first call I have received from a middle eastern man....the name always changes but the story is the same and it is all a scam I just tell them this and give them my lawyers name and number then they dont call back for a while but it still makes my blood boil.
Recieved a call stating that I needed to retain a lawywer due o the fact that I would have charges brougth against me for internet fraud. I listen to this person seak for 10 minutes telling me what I had done and what would happen if I did not respond to the matter. I then told him that I never had a loan and do not recall any loans that I have ever taken out. He then swithed it around to say it was fraudulent checks and music that I had scammed off the internet. Then I said I would call to verify the information and he said not to call, I only need to talk to him.. I replied that I will call anyway, he became upset and said that he didnt have time for this, so I hung up. My husband then called the number back to speak with the person I spoke to, and he said that he wife needs a lawyer and for the lawyer to contact him. My husband informed him that his wife does not have any loans. The person Jon that he spoke with , began to get loud. After a minute of talking with my husband and getting nowhere with his lies, he hung up on my husband. From the previous reports that were posted here. these individuals seem to trying to step there game up with better scare tactics. or scam. It is ashame that people have to endure such BS in life.
This seems to be going on with several people in my geographic area also. I have been receiving calls from this individuals for almost over a year and he also indicates that i should get a Walmart Debit care and call him with the information so that no other legal actions will take place. I am so happy to see that is a scam and not to panick about....thank you all..... :)
