Called me two days in a row. Answered on day 2 and was told the IRS was opening a legal case against me. I inquired since I always pay taxes and didn't know what he was talking about. He transferred me to "Legal," where another guy with a thick access said some case numbers and told me not to interrupt him until he was finished. I said I'd interrupt if I needed to. He proceeded to tell me I haven't paid my taxes; I disagreed. He rudely reminded me not to interrupt and then hung up.
I called back. Same dude answered, "Dept of Legal Affairs, US Treasury." yeah, riiiiiight. busted.
Report the Calls to the real IRS here:
•report the incident to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration at 800-366-4484.
•You can also file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission at FTC.gov. Add "IRS Telephone Scam" to the comments in your complaint.
******
Do consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $60.00 or so.

Call from Frank Bannister telling me that I needed to contact them right away or they were going to call my employer and then I would be sent to jail . Very thick accent.
