William is right. You need to dispute the debt in writing however. Certified, return receipt mail is best that way you have proff they have received it.

Next time they call tell them Federal law requires them to send you proof, by USPS mail, that the debt really exists and that they have the right to collect it. They have 5 days to mail it out, and you have 30 days to review it and dispute it. After that, they can go to court and sue. Do not give them any more information.
A "voice on the phone" is not proof.
An email is not proof.
If they threaten you "you will be served" or "the sheriff will come by and arrest you" hang up.
If they continue calling, block the number.
