they called my boss at work to and they are now using the tactic that you the the IRS money and that you have 1hr to wire the money or they will issue an arrest warrant with your local police dept. DO NOT fall for
this scam. they are fake.
Received a call from this number on Monday and the caller sounded Arabic or Indian with the name Scott Williams from Jefferson and Davenport Associates. They stated that I owed $1200.00 and if I did not pay, I would be served papers to appear in court in 3 days. After the initial freak-out, I did a little research on the payday loan company that he is "apparently" been hired by and found no information what so ever on the internet and I was also unable to verify the existance of Jefferson and Davenport Associates except on this website. Also after doing a reverse number look-up, the two numbers that he called from were from two separate counties in California (Los Angles County and San Diego County.) I called my attorney and she recommended that I file a police report which will be done today.
Same "Scott Williams" who said he was a senior attorney, lol, like they would call..... said I was being sued against my social security and wanted my retained lawyers info(trying to scare me) what he didnt know, and was surprised to hear,is I do have a retained lawyer so I gladly gave my lawyers info to him...and he hastily thanked me and hung up...lol
Same thing just got a call round 5pm so after seeing this forum i did call the police and gave him a copy of this forum and has their info so hopefully this scumbag goes down
I got the same call this morning from this number. The man represented himself as Alex Watson from Jefferson and Davenport Associates. He told me I owed $300 from a loan at Easy Cash USA. He said I know owe $989.52 and it needed to be paid today or the police and a investigative team would show up at work to serve me papers. He had so much personal information that I believed him initially but I didn't remember ever having a loan with this company. He told me to fax my drivers license and a notarized letter with my debit card information stating it was okay for them to charge my card on specific dates with specific amounts. The fax number he gave was (818) 937-1914. He would not give me any details about the company or the loan. I told him he could contact my attorney and he refused to take down the information. He said he would see me in the Supreme Court of California this Thursday and then I would owe an additional $3723.00. I am glad I was suspicious and looked into this before I did anything. These people called me two times this morning and left the same kind of voice mail as outlined in other posts regarding this number: I owe money and good luck with the law if I don't call right away. They asked for someone who is not me and I told them I've had my number since 1996 and they have the wrong person and to take my number out of their database...and they hung up on me. I called back, it was the same person, and he asked why I was calling again and I said I wanted his name and he said "why, your number is out of our system now" and I asked again and he hung up on me again. This organization needs to be stopped!
