Thank goodness for Autotrader (AT) anonymous text messaging (VIP package). Got a text from this same number today, late PM, tried the same push to rush a paypal payment, but this old dog can smell scam. Came here and saw that my hunch was likely correct. Thanks for reporting, wish I could help with a name to the number. I will be reporting it to AT though, maybe they will have more success.

Same as most above. Texted me in interest to a car I have listed on Cars.com. Area code nowhere near my location. Not responding due to evidence of scam from all these reports.
Same experience, got a text from said dude that said he was interested in my car. Asked for paypal information and that he would have an associate come check it out. Asked for his name and he hasn't responded yet. Pretty interesting seeing as though I am from the Midwest and their area code says they are from CA.
Got a text from this phone number, I live in FL and this number is from LA, asking me for PayPal haha. I post a car for sale in Craigslist local.
Be careful is a scam!
