I am a former employee of the Internal Revenue service. I can assure the public that the Internal Revenue Service will never call you by phone. If you have a case with them, you will be sent letters only. You have to be the one to do the phone calling or visiting their area offices. These people are not too intelligent on this issue. Procedures require their employees never to use the slang term IRS.
i got calls twice a day for the last two months from phone number 323.729.3146. a horrible ghost voice on the phone call claims To be NICKY JOHNSON From internal revenue service, and say that i have to call immediately to their hotline phone number 805.637.7243 before they take an action against me. i went to the irs offices to check what's going on. and they confirmed that its a scam . Received call from IRS telling me there was an important message from the IRS and to call Mr. Johnson back at that number. It said it was important and not to ignore it.. Called and no one answered. I did not think the IRS would be notifying me by phone call of any problem.
