I was contacted on June 13, 2016 at 10:45am CST by this number (323) 729-3146 claiming to be the IRS. They left me a voicemail explaining that they are the IRS asking them to call them back. If I did not call them back they would escalate my case further. I called the number back. I male answered saying IRS. I let him know that I received a message asking me to call them back but I wanted to call back even though I believe that it is in error. I was placed on a brief hold. And he returned back to the phone saying Mrs. ________ this is the IRS we are calling regarding the case that was filed against you, do you have any more information about that case. I said no, because I do not owe any money to the IRS. He was very persistent and tying to get more information. I told him that I am not going to give him any information about me because they contacted me and if I have a case filed against me then you should have that information. He eventually stop talking and I ended the call.
Scam caller impersonating an IRS official. Using a computer voice synthesizer to leave a voicemail as "Mickey Johnson" with instructions to call this number "before we take any action."
They left a message so I called back... They said they were the IRS and I owed 4K.. I asked where the discrepancy was and he would not tell me..he said he was going to freeze my assets and I would have to go to court and pay legal fees and would owe 8K.. I asked for a supervisor and both these men had an accent sounding of India... The "supervisor" asked for my social security number and I said no so he said there would be nothing further to discuss.. I said it sounded like a scam and he hung up on me.
