The voicemail message stated "IRS. The hotline to my division is 323-744-7158. I repeat it's 323-744-7158. Don't disregard this message and do return the call before we take any action against you. Goodbye and take care."
I got the call with only the number and to call back before they take action. Called and Jose Martinez gave me his id number for the criminal investigations dept of the IRS? He went through all the allegations against U.S. and when I questioned him about not getting a written notice from the IRS he said he didn't have to listen to my bad language (which there wasn't any) and hung up.
It's a scam but pretty upsetting.
i received this call they said they were from the IRS & if I didn't return the call they would take further action. WHen I called the number they answered " This is the IRS" I asked "Is this really the IRS?"
He said "No this is your Daddys home [***]"
I got a call from 323-744-7158 and a message was left from Nicky Johnson saying she was teh retained attorney for the IRS and to call her back immediately. I called back and got a man, gave them my name....he asked if i worked at X...and to verify my address. By that time, i'd googled the phone number and saw "scam" all over that numbers and i got defensive and said he should know all that...and he immediately hung up on me.
