I just got he same call and of course they changed their names to Chris Wilcox and the Senior Inspector Chris Harris, M-F-ERS... they could really scam the hell out of people... They said 3 violations were commited by me and they had an arrest warrant out for me.DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION!!!!!!!!!!!!
Some loser with an accent reading a script claiming to be from the U. S. Treasury Department left a message regarding a "very important issue" and urged me to return the call immediately. Good luck with that Slick . . . .
Report the Calls to the real IRS here:
•report the incident to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration at 800-366-4484.
•You can also file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission at FTC.gov. Add "IRS Telephone Scam" to the comments in your complaint.

Do consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $50.00 or so.
Got a message on my machine telling me they were from the Department of Legal Affairs and it was important that I should have my attorney call back right away to discuss the "case that was going to be opened against me" Caller had a heavy indian accent. Yeah, the only case against me they would open is that I am a sucker who is willing to be scared into giving out my credit card. Not happening. This is the third similar call I have received from different numbers. The last one I told the caller I was going to contact my congressman and file a complaint. Afterwards I decided to call back just to see what they were going to tell me but they had already disconnected the line and all I got was a "magicjack" message telling me the phone number I have called has not been assigned. They must be using a proxy server based internet service with an internet phone service to make phone calls overseas that shows up on caller id as local calls.
I was about to give them my credit card until my friends argued with him. Scared the SH&* out of me. Beware of this number. The mans name was Charlie Wilcox and he forwarded me to Travis Hall which was the same guy. I was so nervous that I didnt catch that until after!
ha ha, same here. we've been getting identical script read to us (well, to our answering machine) from quite a few different numbers lately. apparently some boiler room collections agency in India has gotten hold of our phone# in hopes of squeezing a little blood from the ole turnip as it were. not that we owe them a cent
