Received a call stating he was 2 people, first Chris Barnes and then Officer Glen Barnes. Once I told him to go ahead and issue the warrant he hung up on me. So, I've been calling him back every 5 minutes and saying "Officer Barnes, I've got your money" and hang up. and then Ill call him back and tell him I am a POLICE officer and he hangs up. This is FUN. Let's all call him a THOUSAND times and drive him crazy....
Call from 323-786-0626 says legal action is being taken against me and they have tried to mail me something 3 times, which is a lie, they are trying to get more info about you or money.
I got a call from 909-666-5713 telling me legal action was being taken against me and that they have mailed me the information multiple times and I failed to call them which is a total lie they did not mail me anything I have a locking mail box and check it every day, so that is a lie. They said I needed to call officer Jason Brown at 323-786-0626 Ex.226 and he would help me resolve the situation. It is a scam I looked it up and many people have gotten a call from one or both of those numbers and it is always a scam. I did not call the 323-786-0626 Ex.226 and do not plan to call it.
Same things as previous callers. Heavy accent. Sounded like a computer generated voice too. Chris something or other. Dept of legal affairs. Warns you to get an attorney for something you are accused of, but never relates what. Call back.... I like the persons' suggestion to call them back often at all hours of the day and night., when you get up in the middle of the night or you can't sleep (block your number first!)
Report the Calls to the real IRS here:
•report the incident to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration at 800-366-4484.
•You can also file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission at FTC.gov. Add "IRS Telephone Scam" to the comments in your complaint.

Do consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $50.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.
Received a call once (didn't get origin # calling from) but sounded like a busy call center and thick indian accent. Something about an immediate court case i was supposed to be at, an arrest warrant, and did i have a lawyer. From the Treasury. Couldn't make it out but told him to send me something by mail if it was legit like every other gov't agency and that it sounded like a scam.
Received a second call two months later and was much easier to hear them this time. Said did i have a lawyer, from Treasury dept, and have i been getting mail on this "court case"? Had my real address but with an apt #. Given this # to call back an "Officer Jason Brown" and clear it up. Seeing as how there's a track record of same scam behavior ALL over this number on multiple web sites i feel better that this nothing to pursue any further as being real. Beware and don't stress about this.
