The telemarketer said he was calling from Marriott because I am a VIP traveler with them (I never stay or travel with Marriott btw).
Me: "I am not interested, please take me off the list."
Telemarketer: "ok but do you know why you are getting this call?"
Me: "yes, but I do not want any more phone calls"
Telemarketer: "ok but do you know why we are calling you?"
Me: "I said yes but do not call me any more"
Telemarketer: "why are you getting these phone calls then?"
Me: "do not call me anymore"
Telemarketer: "you don't know anything (in a bad Indian accent)."
Received call from this number offering me vacation deals. I asked how he received my phone number. He said it was through RCI and it's because I vacationed with the Marriott. While he started his sales pitch, I researched the company on the internet. I mentioned to him that I wanted to verify that the company was reputable. Instead, I saw messages indicating the company was scamming people. He rudely said that he was going to look up my name to see if I was an ax murderer. That's when I ended the call.
They just hung up.. So I changed the name on that number to SPAM, and will never pick up when that rings.. That Do Not Call List clearly does not work at all..
