Debt collector calling for a relative. They call incessantly! I have asked several times to be removed from their list because I have no contact with the relative anymore. I wasn't even aware that he listed me.
He probably didn't list you - many debt collectors - especially the shadier ones - will call relatives in an attempt to flush out their mark. However, they are not allowed by law to keep calling you. If you have a company name and physical address, send them a cease and desist communications letter, certified mail/return receipt (there are many templates to choose from online - you can adapt one to suit your needs). This puts them on notice that you WILL seek legal remedy if they continue to call. However, it's likely that the caller is from a scam outfit, in which case, even if you get a company name and address, it's likely a mail drop in a UPS store or a mall. If your phone has a number block feature, use it to block them. If not, you may want to look at getting a call blocker - you can get a good one for less than $50 nowadays.
