Yes I know this number. I had a Craigslist add for new tires & rims and this guy texts a reply about same as above "Same story, buying rims & tires for his father as a gift, works as an Air Force instructor, private courier pickup, etc." We agreed as I use PayPal, he then texts me constantly today to see if I received the confirmation from PayPal as he "sent me the money". I told him I received 2 phishing emails from PayPal (obvious fakes) saying he overpaid and if I could just MoneyGram the $400 he overpaid my account would be back in good standing. I texted back that I am reporting him to PayPal and the police and I have never heard from him again.
Same guy just tried to do the same thing. Sent a couple of phony Paypal emails trying to phish for login info. Said his name is Collins Boter. Same story, buying rims for his father as a gift, works as an Air Force instructor, private courier pickup, etc. etc. Beware of these craigslist scammers. If they're not willing to meet, then don't waste your time.
Also received a poorly written text from this guy with the same claims of Airforce, gifts for father, etc. Was selling an exhaust for a 370Z. Obviously a scam
