They called me this am and stated his name is victor miller for windows service center and that my computer is sending virus I told him how could that be since I just had it fixed by the real windows repair service center. They hung up. Than about 4 pm they called and would not Id them selves but said they were from the FBI so I have reported this to the Fraud department of the FBI
Appears to be a scam trying to tell you that if you are using windows OS on your computer your computer is sending out errors. He claims he can fix while you're on the phone. Probably wants to get into your folders to access private information. DO NOT ALLOW access to your computer from any outside source unless you know them to be legit.
I told him I had 2 OS on my computer and I would quit using windows and use ubuntu instead. Then he said both computers will be infected if he doesn't fix them. I told him I have but one computer. Well only one on line all the time. I told him if the problem continues I'll reformat my hard disk. Didn't seem to have an answer and hung up. I'll block this number on my ooma account suggest you do the same.
Several calls a day from this # claiming to be Microsoft and that my computer was sending out errors. Yesterday they called 3 times in a row and the person on the other end started making lewd comments!!
Enough already with these people
They have called multiple times a day. Yesterday, I spoke with one of the "agents" from "windows"as he claimed, and had me log into a site "Aammy.com" which was a remote site that he was going to be able to "fix the errors on my computer". I saw a warning sign from Aammy stating this was a scam to get access to the hard drive. This past week I was victim of identity theft, and now that I have changed card numbers, they are calling constantly. Tonight I answered and spoke to "Ashley" I informed her that I would like her name and number to call her back as the police are involved. She continued to say I had errors on my computer and I stated firmly, that I wanted to speak to a supervisior or manager. She would not honor my request, and got nasty and hung up. I am awaiting the next call.
