Got a call today, my caller ID shows the number is in Illinois. Looked like a weird number so I didn't answer it. I called back and it said the phone call could not be completed as dialed. Probably spam!
I got a call from this number a few mins ago. Didn't pick up cuz I didn't recognise. They didn't leave a message but I was sure it was a scam call. I'd also gotten another scam call earlier this morning from another # I didn't recognise (312-333-0444) so I didn't pick it up either but they left a message wanting me to call them back b/c I'd won $50 grand from a contest I'd entered 'a while back'. Yeah right. I don't even enter contests and even if I ever did I wouldn't give out a cell #.
Got a call on my cell phone. At first a recording from 331-000-0001...said "This is Rachael from card services. It is imperative that you take this call about your credit card."
I pressed the prompt to talk to someone. An Indian man (Arid Morris)answered. I told him I was on the Do Not Call list, and that he should have a new list every week (I've been on the list for years), and to take me off his call list.
He said, "Do you even know why we are calling...it's very important..."
I told him it was not important to me!
He said, "if you have contacted Experian recently you automatically get this call.
After him being very forceful to tell me about what they do, and why I NEED them...
I told him again, "It's not important to me!" and hung up.
"Rachael" has called before. Same thing. Different number.
Now; I have contacted Experian recently, and that is a whole other issue I will have to deal with.
Why is a trusted credit reporting agency giving out my cell phone number?
