Got a call today, my caller ID shows the number is in Illinois. Looked like a weird number so I didn't answer it. I called back and it said the phone call could not be completed as dialed. Probably spam!
Told me to press 9 to lower my credit card rates. When I pushed 9 the guy on the other end was from India I believe and said he worked with Experian to lower my Visa Card and MasterCard rates. How do I make them stop calling. This is about the 6th call I have received.
I'm in Washington State and just got a call from this number on my cell phone (my cell phone number I've had for about 10 years and have never received a call on it from this kind of scammer with this kind of weirdo spoofed number). I do not ever answer any phone calls from numbers/companies/people I don't know (very few have this cell phone number in the first place so anyone who calls trying to scam or sell can go blow it out their ear as I will never be answering their scammy phone calls). With a weird prefix of 000, you know automatically it's offshore, most likely originating in some place like Nigeria. I wish they weren't such cowards and would actually show who they are and their real location - I'd then send some really nasty people their way.
Got a call from the same number - dead air.
I saved the number in contacts under phone scam and then blocked it.
Made me nervous as I had just read an article about Caribbean phone scammers calling and trying to get you to call back and then getting smacked with a $20 plus billing charge. Be careful about calling back numbers!!!!
Got a call from this number yesterday. Answered without thinking.. No one was on the line and did not leave a message. I did not call back , but looked number up on line and found this page. I am also from South Carolina. Will not answer next time!
I get calls from this number on my home phone and they just hang up when I answer. This is very irritating and I want the call to stop. I tried to report on do no call list but they say this number is no a correct number for reporting.
