Got a call today, my caller ID shows the number is in Illinois. Looked like a weird number so I didn't answer it. I called back and it said the phone call could not be completed as dialed. Probably spam!
The "card services" scammers didn't "get" your cell number from anywhere, they use a robodialer, which dials numbers in a sequential order, until someone answers, and becomes their next potential victim. Read the posts on page 1 to learn why not to answer their calls, press any buttons, and certainly not call them back!
Saturday is not a day of rest for these people either. Still calling South Carolina. Filed a report as has been suggested earlier. Do Not Answer any call like this!
Got a call from this weird number as well. Live in CA. Harry made a comment on Feb.6th. about a $30 charge. I just found out about this scam myself. I just called my cell provider and had them put a stop on ANY THIRD PARTY CHARGES on my cell phone. That is service is free. I think a lot of people don't know about the scam or that they can put that block on their cell phone. Call your provider and ask to have them do it. FREE at least with AT&T.
