Hi, Tina. I did just a few minutes ago! A gentleman by the name of "Mark something" with an Indian accent took my call who, based on the sound of the background noise, seems to be working in a call center (I recognize the background noise as that of a call center because I used to work for one). Since he claims that I won a reward and that I was selected based on a survey I recently completed online (total lie because don't respond to online surveys), I started asking him with questions, such as the name of his company, if the rewards program was legitimate, etc. He replied nervously at the latter, completely ignoring the first question and then this motherf*cker hangs up on me! Kind of suspicious, wouldn't you think?!
The first red flag is that although he gave out his full name (last name was indistinct due to the Indian accent), as someone who has worked in a call center, you do NOT give out your full name. You are assigned an employee ID#. Secondly, he didn't give me the name of the company he works for. If it was a legitimate company, wouldn't you be confident giving the name out? You hang up on me for asking logical questions? I would advise that you not give out any personal information if I were you guys.
