I received a call from 331-212-8206. CID said Aurora IL. I answered and there was nothing for several seconds then a real voice said, 'Hello'. He identified himself as Joe Collins and said he was representing the Chiefs of Police. They were kicking off their fund drive to support fallen heroes. "Can we count on you for your donation when we send you your decals?" I said, "I don't think so." He proceeded to say, "The minimum donations is $11.00. Can we count on you for a donation?" Since I had already answered his question I said a simple 'No'. He said, "Thank you for your time. Maybe you can help out on the next drive. Goodbye." His voice was very mundane and unfeeling and sounded very disinterested in the cause. I do have to give him credit for at least thanking me and actually saying 'goodbye'. They usually just hang up when the get a negative answer. They probably get tired of hearing 'no'.
