Called my home phone, but left no message. If this is any clue as to who this might be, I have received over 10 calls from 6 phone numbers around the country all from my son checking some "college interest" boxes on a form during testing recently. So I'm guessing it's another recruiting, financing or fund-raising business working for some university(-ies).
Called me as well. I did not answer. If you are quick enough you can type the number into your browser and 800 notes will come up if the number has already been reported. Handy for making the decision not to answer.
Wow! They did leave a message! What a waist of MY time. Yes it is a scam. What ever you do don't press"2" to be removed from their list. Yea that will work. Just like un-subscribing to email spam. Yea that will work.
Yes, I got the call, too. It was to a business line, like businesses are going to jump all over this. All illegal pre-record, and I was able to record the call. Starts off with "I know you probably hate these calls..." You bet. Claims to be not MLM, 'Cash Gifting', or pryamid scheme. You bet... They have an 'exclusive lead source' where you only have to return a phone call to people who have expressed interest. Like people that respond to these (which makes it a pyramid). Looking for people "follow simply directions without resistance or questions"... like stupid drones. Anyway, dropped off a fake name, and see if they called back.
I got one almost identical to this a couple of weeks ago. Got a call back directing me to call a phone number for more information, and it was a 30 minute sales pitch, and it cost $500-$20,000 to 'buy in' to be in a telemarketing system getting other to 'buy in' just like you. Pure pyramid fraud.
This is pretty interesting. If you can, please give us an update if they return your message with the planted name.
"Looking for people '...(to) follow simply (sic) directions without resistance or questions' " - is both hilarious and scary at the same time. It would be nice to know what this one is up to.
