This is the Elmhurst Hospital Foundation calling (annual fundraiser). They (or their many office & affiliates in DuPage County Illinois) likely have your number because someone used your number when getting medical services (even prescriptions from Elmhurst Hospital or affiliated doctors, etc. While this is a legitimate non-profit, I'll not even consider an over-the-phone donation. They have a web site. And, I never "opted in" for calls from the Foundation which seems to have access to hospital/clinic intake records (perhaps it was in the small print). Nonetheless, as a non-profit charity, Congress exempted them from DNC restrictions. The Foundation DID send me a letter (USPS) informing me of the fundraising drive and to expect a call before these started.
Thanks for the info - I've been getting repeated calls from this number; I picked up once and there was no one on the line. They never leave messages, so I assumed it was not legit, but now I know who it is (and I still won't pick up...).
