I got a call from this number yesterday. However, it showed up on caller ID like a Mexican phone number. Ex: 52-331-372-2658. What's strange and sent up a red flag is that after the fact, caller ID showed the number as an Illinois phone number 331-372-2658.
Since I have family members in Mexico, I answered. It was weird because a nephew had messaged me to tell me he'd be in town this weekend and he'd swing by to see us, which he usually does when he's in town. So, when I answered this call the guy on the other end is like Auntie, I'll be by on Sunday morning. And, I'm like ok. Just give me a call before you get here.... It wasnt my nephew. I called his Dad to ask if his son was in Mexico and he said no. After I told him what happened he called his son and my nephew called me back and said it wasn't him who called. Kinda freaked me out. I never give out my cell number. This clown tried to call me 3 times this morning. When he noticed I blocked his call on the Illinois number, he called on the Mexican number. Left no voice mail. Be careful out there guys! These scam calls are getting more and more elaborate.

I got a call from someone at this number as well. He was all friendly, and said he'd stop by. I asked who it was (a Mexican) and he asked who I thought it was. When I said it sounded like "x" he said exactly. Then he called later with a request for $1850, said there was an accident, a girl was hurt, and he needed the money bad. I told him I could barely understand, but I could not lend him money until I could meet him face to face. He said he could not meet, and wanted to know how quickly and how much I could get him the money. I said I would not discuss it except face to face. He hung up.
Now I wonder if it really was X? Probably not, just some scammer.
I got a call from this number saying it was my cousin that he wanted to see me, & if i can pick him up from rhe airport. i call my cousin & it wasnt him. The weird thing is that they wanted me to go to the airport by my self.
I got this call earlier today saying [ all in Spanish] You know who I am. I said no I do not know He answered back the cousins, I said you are mistaken. and he hung up immediately. this was the second time he called the 1st time he told me that he had not known he had to declare cash more then $10,000.00 and he was carrying $19,000.00 and the border patrol was holding him and we could not come to see him because of airport security but we were to send him $1,900.00 to Jalisco, Mexico so he could pay the customs so they could release it to him. His voice sounded like a Pastor friend of ours. When I said oh your Pastor David he assured me he was. We were ready to help him by sending the money, fortunately we did not send it before finding out that it was not Pastor David. Turns out it was a fraud. Hidalgo County, Texas Sherriff has record of the 1st call The number appears on my phone as +331-372-2658.
Received a call last night from a gentleman stating to be my nephew from mexico. He said his work was flying him to CA to purchase some machinery for his company and said he would come and see our family the next day. The following morning I got a call from him again and he said he was stuck in customs because he had $19,000.00 in cash (that was from his company to be used to buy the machinery) and he had to pay a fine in order for them to release him and his money -- a total of $1,900.00. He asked if I could wire him the money so he could be released. We were able to get in touch with the actual relative in Mexico which confirmed it was not him whom we had been speaking with and advised to not transfer any money. The number called numerous times non-stop after we stopped picking up the phone calls. Very scary, please be cautious!!!
