Who called from 3342167331

Caller ID said Demopolis, Al.
I didn't recognize it so I didn't answer. They left no message.
Since my "call blocking" list is full, I have added them to my "call forwarding" list.
If they call again they will be connected with my congressman's office.

I got a call from 334-216-7331. The caller ID simply said: "Demopolis"

When I answered, the caller identified himself as someone who was calling in behalf of ALABAMA STATE TROOPERS' ASSOCIATION. HE was soliciting donations in exchange for a sticker that you put on your car that says that you gave to the ALABAMA STATE TROOPERS' ASSOCIATION. Shouldn't this sort of thing be illegal?

The Caller ID only shows it as being DEMOP AL. These callers claim to be from the Alabama State Troopers' Association. And they call at all hours of the day repeatedly. But upon my research, my findings are that these callers are from Demopolis, AL 36732, with Verizon as their Carrier. The real AL State Troopers' Association is located in Montgomery, AL 36104, with their one and only phone number being (334) 265-2782. So these callers are Spoofed Pharmers or Phishers. And I have filed a formal complaint via [email protected]. Yet nothing has become of it yet.

I made the mistake of answering the phone once about  5 years ago and again a year later. I asked the man repeatedly to remove my contact info from their list and he finally said "that is NEVER going to happen." He said, I believe, they were calling "on behalf of" the Alabama Troopers. He did not say he WAS the Alabama Troopers or the Alabama State Troopers. I then tracked down their "charity" and found that while they may buy & donate some equipment to the troopers it is at the most 15% of the $$$$$$$  they con people into giving them. Most be a lucrative scam, they are still at it 6 years after I first heard from them. And I just heard from them AGAIN, as I do every year. Can't wait until I can once again be rid of the land line.

I have gotten several calls from this number but only answered once and they hung up when I did answer..
