I read if you answer the call its worse , then the caller knows its a live number. There is obviously no end. Second scam call today. I stopped answering. At some point I will purchase a call blocker. There is no way this will stop. These are some really stupid people who can't do anything else.
This number called me and the phone read it was from Alabama. The caller told me I had a debit to the U.S. Treasurer and needed to call 1-334-374-5689 immediately. He went on to say if I did not call immediately I may be in big trouble with the U.S. Treasury department. The callers name I did not get, but he spoke English and had a significant accent.
This is a scam of some sort. Our local news has said that people call the number and then they are asked to send money to pay off a debt. They lose lots of money.
Received a call from 3343745689 listed as "Alabama call"
Recorded message from Scott at account services. He said this was an official notification to lower my credit card interest rates. He said I had to act quickly. Press one...
I spoke into the phone and said that I was on the 'Do Not Call' registry.
The male indian voice on the phone proceeded to call me a m***********r. I said really? and hung up. They continued to call 4 additional times and each time I requested they quit calling. The 5th call I threatened to report the number and was told "I f**k police m**********r.
After I hung up on the indian male voice, he called back 5 more times from 251-661-8585. That shows "Mary Fendley" on caller id. The first call, the indian male voice said "Remember me m**********r?" I hung up.
Second call response was "Hey m**********r, you not gon' hang up on me." I said, yes I am. And hung up.
Last calls, I just picked up the phone & hung up.
This is the third scam call I've gotten today on my cell phone. What did they do, just hire a whole new crew with a huge amount of new numbers? Pitiful. Since they call during the day, I'm at my computer and I pull the numbers to see if they are listed here and other sites like this one. If it's someone I need to talk to, I'll call them back!. Thanks US government for letting us down again about privacy and the Do Not Call registry. Oh well!
