I had the same thing happen to me. Said they were going to issue a warrant for my arrest.
Wanted me to send them $790.25 or go to jail. the caller was from India, said her name was Erika Perkins.
I received a call at 3:20pm today stating that either me or my attorney needed to return the call. When I called back, they answered, "law offices." I stated they were not a law office, provided my first name and wanted to know what the call was in regards to. They would not speak to me and wanted my lawyer since I somehow knew they were not an attorney's office. I was then hung up on. At that point, I was called back with another customer saying "Hello" a number of times and I could hear a baby crying and children in the background. She wanted to know what was going on and I stated that the office was playing us off one another. I hung up, called back, and was seeking information. At that point I again was not provided information. After about four minutes, the customer service representative informed me I was going to be subpena tomorrow and arrested on Friday. The company was making an example out of me.
I asked what was going on. I had no information. Other than a few medical bills, I am in good standing with everyone. I was then told it was a payday - American something or other. I tried to get further information and was disconnected.
I waited about an hour and called back. I was calmer and so was the gentleman on the other end. He was going to put me in touch with the lady I spoke to earlier, but since the affidavit was not read to me, he was able to assist. I was told I owed over $8,000 on a charged off payday loan to a bank account I have had for little over a year. The loan was in the amount of $200, 300, or 500 dollars. The initial amount was not known. The charge of date was August 16th. It was easy for me to look through the deposits in my bank for those three amounts for the last year. Nothing matched for those three amounts for the last year.
The gentleman explained he could assist me by having it go through their lawyers and investigations. He asked me what I wanted him to do at that point. I had not looked at my bank at that time, but told him I wanted to do that. He did not like my answer, wished me luck in jail, and hung up on me. He had stated that I was sent a number of emails via email to an email address I rarely use in regards to paying back this money. I verified this was not true either. I was told by the first rep (the lady) to get a criminal attorney because of the fraud. At that time I did not know much of what was going on.
At this time I am reporting this information to the non-emergency line to my local police department so they have the information. I did not take the money, it was not deposited to my account, and I did nothing wrong. I wonder how many more people are being told to pay the money in order to stay out jail???
I have been receiving multiple phone calls at work from 334-819-1345. They tell my employer they are calling for Jim Bergman and they are a law office. My employer told me that I cannot get personal calls at work or I will be fired.
I had the same phone call. Said they were a law office. In fact they gave me the name of the company: Jackson Law Firm. I also got threaten that i to will get jail time if i didn't pay the loan and i had to get a lawyer. O, they said there was a loan i had gotten that was suppose to be paid earlier this month, but i knew that wasn't true. I've taken out loans before(not with this company), i always indicate when my pay dates are(once a month). They always tell me a month after i've applied for the loan to pay.
This guy gave me his name: Travis Hall-had somewhat of an mexican/american voice. I could understand him! I have yet to call back. But i'm going to.
This number tells me the same as some other people. They have a legal case against me in regards to American Cash....hmmmm never took out a loan with these guys before. So just be aware people. The guys accent is heavy from india I think. If u call back, they answer the phone " law firm" haha. Idiots!! I just thought everyone should watch themselves cause when u ask questions, they start to get realy pissed with u, put u on hold a lot too!!! So don't fall for there b.s.
