I recently recieved a txt message from a Guy named Mac Roland, about purchasing an item we had for sale. Here is the message he sent us.

I want to buy it for my son as a birthday gift and I am ready to pay the asking price. I'm an Ocean Engineer and am currently on sea right now which is strictly no calls. My Mode of payment is PayPal because i don't have access to my bank account online, but i have it attached to my PayPal account. Since I'm requesting this transaction to be done via PayPal, I will be responsible for all the Paypal fees/charges on this transaction, if you don't have an account with paypal, it's pretty easy, safe and secure to open one. Just log on to www.paypal.com. I hope we can make this transaction as fast as possible. Less I forgot, I have a Mover that will come for it once payment is cleared in your paypal account and they will be handling the title for me, as I look forward to hearing from you with your paypal information as requested below.


After reading all of this on this website I agree that It's a scam.. Don't plan on allowing this transaction to go through, I see it this way if you can't contact someone by phone then it isn't going to happen. It must be done to where we can conversate over the phone and not where they have no contact other then they will arrange for a mover to come get the purchase..

Received a text in response to a very new Craigslist ad from 678-974-3950.  The person asked for an email response to [email protected] regarding availability of the sale item.   I did respond to the email and then had second thoughts.  When I Googled the email address he showed up in several places as a scammer.  In the text he identified himself as Mac.

Here is the same message I got but it is a gift for his son now. See the email we got. Thought it might be real, but when he said he is out to sea. hmmmmm. I started the google sherlock holmes search. Thanks everyone for your posts at least I know we can count on others watching out for us. I did reply back but not with any personnel  info but thanks I will see when he replies what he or they got to say and post it.

Mac Roland trying to scam again using a 321 area code # saying he was on a boat and had to use PayPal. Its no good. Don't do it.
