I too just received a call with the same exact message as Randy above. 7:45 March 17, 2010. This is definitley a scam as I don't even have an ATM card with my federal credit union! Who should we call to report this?
SAME HERE, I think they are trying to steal people's credit card numbers....I didn't fall for it!, I think when ya call back its somehow diverted to someone else's number.
I got a call from the same number last night. It was an automated message that said that my U.S. Treasury account had been compromised and therefore deactivated and that I should press 1 to get it reactivated. I pressed 0 to try to get an operator, but the call was ended. I called back a few times and the call didn't go through.
This morning at 3:42am I got a call from this number and my boyfriend called back to see who it was because he didn't know who it was, and was going to yell at them for calling so early... he got the same thing. My credit card had been compromised and they wanted him to push 1... He hung up, then not even 5 minutes after that, he got a call from a different number saying pretty much the same thing! My advice is if you don't know the number, let it go to voicemail. If they don't leave a message, then it's probably not important. And don't give your credit card info to ANYONE!
