This is exactly how it played or for me just now. I could sense it wasn't right but I let him talk anyway just in case then he started laughing while he asked for a donation.
I just got a call saying it was Baton Rouge police and my name apperntly was mrs. Robin Williams and that's not my name. I'm getting sick and tired of these calls. I called back on my house phone and it was a magic jack.
I just got a call asking me for a donation of $15 to $20 dollar to support the police officers. I told him I could not do it I had a daughter leaving for college and he said he would call me back the next "campaign" I am a Private Investigator so of course I am going to look into it before I donate! Glad I did!
Just happened, October 6,2016, googled the number because I don't answer to numbers I don't know. Got a call from the same "company" "Louisiana Faternal Order of Police" about 6 months ago, I explained that me and my spouse are in Law Enforcement and pay our fees and dues monthly, I told the guy to never call again and delete us from all calls , guess he didn't listen. Called back after the google search, recording says "magic jack mailbox is full". wow!
