robo call with voice recognition to sound real, asked for carl, I said wrong number then it went into a routine of maybe you can help... police and something fund. then I realized it was a fake call and hung up. get these at home and now on cell. Try calling number back but just get busy signal, sign of a scam, do not fall for it.
Just called. Asked for head of household. I've heard this same voice recording for people soliciting for some charity to support families of fallen law enforcement officers. I have nothing against that, but do resent the constant phone calls from some unheard of charity. I'll give locally to a real charity.
Just called. Asked for me by name. He was soliciting for the police association, so he said. Asked for a minimum support of $15. Said that they'd send an envelope. I said to send that and I'd take a look. When he wouldn't stop talking, then asked me to hold while he got someone on the line, I realized that it was a recording. I hope I'm not on the hook for anything. What a$$holes.
These people have called me several times on multiple numbers. I never picked up, but even if you block one, they will still find a way to keep contacting you.
