I'm an IT professional, and I recognized the scam right away..I had level one and TWO tech support on the line trying to find the "flying window" button on my keyboard for 30 minutes....good laugh!
Got a call this morning from this guy who does not speak very good English claiming to be from a company called 'fix it' because my windows is sending error reports. He wanted me to let him have access to the computer so he can fix it. I told him no and then he told me my computer will stop working in a couple of days, and then asked what I would do. He was starting to get upset with me. Told him not to call again and hung up.
These people want to gain access to the computer so they can get your personal information and mess up your computer. Do not allow them any access to the computer. It is a scam.
Same type of call. Heavy Indian accent. I called him on the scam and he was relentless. I keep blocking these numbers and they call from another. So tired of this scam. These guys need to be stopped!
I get 2 or 3 calls from this number every week, but when answering they don't talk, and then it automatically hangs up!
Like some of the other comments, I too have had the pleasure of dealing with these people regarding my windows issues.
Funny enough I did the same thing playing dumb, and gave them the runaround for a half hour or so...It's really funny cause they get really mad, and say some pretty funny things....They try so hard, but the harder they try the more confused I just happen to get. Finally they just got mad, and hang up on me...I guess I'll have to block the number from now on! LOL
