You're correct that many people not anywhere near age 50 (AARP membership age) have received the calls. Also there is a choice to opt out, as far as the AARP sharing information with others is concerned. I can't understand though, why this right and left wing business has anything at all to do with this discussion, when it was pointed out in earlier posts the AARP was WARNING people of this scam. Fighting back and forth accomplishes nothing, while the elderly continue to be taken advantage of by these criminals. Time would be better spent by those of us that realize this is a scam, attempting to inform those likely to be victimized.
Six previous pages of posts, and you don't know the callers are the medic alert for senior's scammers, calling in an attempt to rip off your elderly mother? Shame on you--read the posts, and share them with your mother, so she doesn't get cheated when they call again--they will be!
We get multiple robo calls and a "MedAlert(?) recording each week. Among the B.S. is qualifying for 2 kinds of prizes worth $1000 and $4000. Tried to cut in to threaten reporting them if the calls don't stop.....but was disconnected. Tried to call the phone number and a message said it wasn't an active number. (347-200-3682)
Hope the FTC or a State Attorney General are hot on their trail.
