2 calls from 347-252-6541. Did not answer at the time. Upon call to that number told that operator would "try to reach". Hung up. Clearly a scam and probably just cost me $.
Robocall - 'you have been pre-approved'....hung up, BLOCKED THEIR NUMBER in Google Voice and am reporting them as telemarketers. Urging everyone to BLOCK and REPORT their numbers as the most effective way to actually reduce the spam calls you get. Just note down any spammer numbers that call you and every couple of days, when you have a few minutes, go to your account on your phone provider's web site and block the numbers. Reporting to the FCC doesn't do anything. Posting notices here such as "stop calling me, I am on the Do Not Call List" doesn't do anything. Posting notices such as "called twice today, why won't they stop calling" doesn't do anything. Calling them back and asking to be taken off their list only proves they reached you and gets your number sold to more spammers! They will call until they figure out you will not buy anything from them, but your number will still be sold as a prospect. That's right, when you either take a call from a spammer or just passively don't block them, they make money selling your number to other spammers! They WILL keep calling and hanging up on your voice mail. I got to the blocked number limit on my ATT land line and the same spammers have called the number EVERY DAY, including Sundays, multiple times a day, hanging up when they get voice mail, for EIGHT YEARS AND COUNTING. I have tried picking up the phone and not speaking, letting them talk to thin air, pretending to go get the party they asked to speak to and saying "honey, telemarketer on the phone for you!" and telling them not to call, as well as reporting many individual spammers to the FCC. They still call. Picking up the phone results in them calling back up to 50 times in a row as soon as you disconnect. No exaggeration. Shame on ATT for limiting how many numbers you can block, but you can work around it by forwarding to Google Voice and blocking them there. If you have an iphone you can block any number that rings it. To stop them calling, kick your number out of their robodialer and make it appear your number is not a good prospect that keeps getting sold over and over, block their number!
Yes I called them because I received 2 hangups from this number and the second time I called them back I asked what he wanted and he was very rude. "well if you would stop talking so I could tell you. I said" Sir you called me and left no voice mail " He says" I want to make love to you in the moonlight " and hung up. I want this number reported for annoyance calls.
You are so right. I use my cell phone for business and I get at least 25 calls a day from spammers. I never answer long distance numbers and block every single one of them that doesn't leave a message. Yeah it sucks, but it's the world we live in. I have even received calls from Jamaica telling me I have won the lottery. DNC list will never do anything. Just keep blocking.
