I got a call, they left an automated message telling me to call them back immediately. I did, and a gentleman with a very foreign sounding accent said he was the IRS and tried to get my phone number. I did not give him this information, and asked him what the call was about. He told me that there is a "lawsuit against you," and let me know that I will be arrested within 48 hours. I asked to speak with his manager an he hung up on me.
They started calling me yesterday (3 times) with a Washington number and today with this New York number. Their message stated I was being sued by the IRS. the third time they called I texted them back telling them to go [***] themselves. I suspect that is why they called me today with the new number. I texted them the same message as yesterday so I will see if they call me back again. It didn't get rejected so it's not a landline.
here's the message left for me by this number: "This from IRS Internal Revenue Service is the reason of this call is to inform you that IRS is filing lawsuit against you to get more information about this case file. Please call immediately on our department number 347-903-5896. I repeat 347-903-5896. Thank you." ...Uh oh, I'm really scared now...
