Who called from 3472738593

Called said his name was David Gregg, and claimed to be the US Treasury didn't ask for my name just a gave his number and said It was illegal If I told a third party. Said we did some illegal on taxes a few years ago. If the real US Treasury called they would of stated my name and the nature of the call up front. Scammer for sure.

Got the same call. Ignoring the call is a federal offense. Yeah, right. Hopefully, no one is stupid enough to fall for this scam.

I have been puzzled by the lack the of other reports for a couple of days.  Now that he has resurfaced, I guess this must be some loser who thought this would be a good way to score some money.

Do consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.

This message started with "... States Treasury," and ended with a threat that "ignoring this will be an intentional attempt to avoid appearance before a Federal Magistrate Judge or a Grand Jury for a federal offense...."  The message was a very poor quality echoey recording, and difficult to understand.  It ended with a repeat of the phone number indicated above and an invitation to "help us help you."
