Note; the move-in cost is the total amount of 1 month rent and a security deposit. As a very busy person I would only take my time to fly down to the US for you to preview the house, only if you accept to pay the above move-in cost after seeing the house.

Upon my reply giving him the necessary detailed info, he then sent this to me:

We appreciate the level of your seriousness on the apartment. Because of this, we have decided to rent the apartment to you without asking any further questions. My wife was excited that you are going to become our tenant. The utilities are included in the rent.
I want to be sure you have the money at hand before flying down to the US , like i mentioned in my previous email, I am a very busy man and will like to be sure before taking the risk.
TO AVOID MULTIPLE CANDIDATE: We will remove the ad from www.craigslist.org
As soon as I hear from you I will let you know my flight schedule.

I got the same email word for word with the same number to call 3475013045 except that the person I was suppose to be contacting was Lan Wild Exec VP, Corporate Financial Services @ ATB Financial in Calgary, Canada. Went I saw that the owner was "overseas" I immediately got suspicious but since I eas earnestly searching for place to rent i decided to inquire more asking for more detail but given very little info more than my name, no animals no pets. I knew something was amiss when they kept wanting DOB even before i looked at the place.

The being oversea without an agent seemed kind of fishy and the phone number was another flag because of the area code.
