Same thing! Man with an Indian accent called claiming to be the IRS. Very rude and demanding. They also called from (347) 298-7033. DO NOT take their calls.
A man named James from the "IRS" called me and left a VM. When I called back he answered with a "hello" which was very suspicious. Told me to hang up because he was going to call me in a minute. When he did said I owed money to the IRS and was going to get arrested for ignoring the mail they have sent me (I didn't get any mail). He had a thick accent and was loud and rude. He threaten me then transfer me to his supervisor that told me the same story. When we hung up I looked up this number 347 298 7033 in goggle and found all these comments. The whole conversation was weird so I knew it had to be fraud. Do NOT answer their phone calls!!
I got several calls from different number and the guy name James the last one was from the phone number 347-298-7033 and they left me a message that I have to call back that number and provide address and social security number. Last time I contacted IRS and asked them if that number is scam. They confirmed that was and told me "The IRS does not contact taxpayers via telephone demanding payment and/or threatening to arrest taxpayers. Do not provide any Personal Identifiable Information (PII) or money to these individuals." Those people I heard from India and recently per Fox news, they stole about 5 mil. dollars from people who provided their SS number. Be careful, never call them again
