Recorded message. Says to call (347) 305-2023 immediately or consequences. Man on the phone has an accent, he says he is from the IRS Criminal Division with case number #... Called twice.
Same as reported by others.. heavy accented male, sounded "very serious" - tax issue, you or your "attorney of record" call right away. It was so obviously fake I laughed the entire time the message played. PLEASE do not call this number. (and if this is your scam number 347-305-2023 #YOUFAIL !!!)
Got a call from this number on my answering machine giving me a case # and call back #. I called back just to make sure it wasn't meant for someone else as it sure didn't sound like any thing related me.
Guy said the IRS "Sent a letter but you weren't there to get it, so it was returned, and now they hired us & are suing you for tax fraud for 2012 & 2013 to the tune of $3,200" He asked me who filed my taxes.
It was a pretty soft sell. When I said I did't want to give out any information he said "Yea I understand".
Seems odd they would give out the number, because now a bunch of people could call them & tie up their line or prank them.
