Who called from 3473054152

The caller left me a voice mail saying that I needed to call the IRS hotline at this number before the IRS took further action against me.  Obviously a scam as I know that the IRS does not call.

THERE'S TWO MEN CALLING FROM 347-708-0029 AND 347-305-4152 CALLING AND LEAVING ME MESSAGES ACTING LIKE THE IRS TOO.  I CALLED BACK AND CURSED THEM OUT.  ONE MAN SAID HIS NAME WAS STEVE MATHEWS ID # 100428 AND I ASKED HIM WHY THE IRS WAS CALLING ME IN CA AND THEY WERE IN NY, WHAT THEY NEEDED AND THE MAN SAID HE WANTED TO F**** ME.  WHAT LOSERS!!!!!!!

Same experience.  "Steve Mathews" claimed to be from IRS, taking action against me for unpaid taxes.  When I said send  the information to me he replied that he would send out the police to arrest me. Thick accent, impatient and rude--even for the IRS.

There is a widespread IRS (or CRA) or "tax scam" being  practiced by scammers on both USA and Canadian residents.

Short answer:
The IRS never initiates a contact via phone.
They always send a snailmail first.

I just had the same automated call - obviously a scam - they called from a different # last month -- the name they used is Nicky Johnson.  The IRS will send a letter if they had any issues with you.
