Voice mail message: "Please call immediately on our department number 347-305-8095. I repeat 347-305-8095. Thank you."
When I returned the call, a man with an accent identified himself as an IRS agent with a name and id number (68625) and asked for my name. He had my full address. He then said that there was a warrant for my arrest for a fraudulent tax return. I said I did not receive anything in the mail and he said it was not relevant and kept repeating the information. I hung up at that point.
Pick up and told me they were suing me and to call back. called back and they picked up within 3 rings. once they identified them self I said wrong number and blocked the call. They call back with the same message on a different number 3 hours later with the same recording. The recording has a female voice digitally altered. be careful
Same call to landline claiming IRS investigations department. Figured was scam as no name or identification of who they are specifically calling. Called back and got busy signal. Called an hour later - man with Indian accent claimed to be IRS Investigations - hung up after I asked for manager. Don't fall for these. Filed complaint on TIGTA site.
