I can't speak for all phone companies but AT&T has "Call Trace" Correct me if I'm wrong but after two traces, the offender is sent a letter....assuming, of course that they can actually trace it. On the third attempt, law enforcement is involved. The "Do Not Call" list doesn't seem to have much success but maybe the phone company will.
This number called today and asked for me by name, when I said that this was he, they began to inform me the the factory warranty had expired on my vehicle. I told her I traded that vehicle, and before I could say 3 months ago, she hung up in my face.
For the past 3 days, I've received a call from this number with the Caller ID also showing NWYRCYZN05 NV. Every time I'd answer, they'd hung up; today I answered in the middle of a ring. A (young) man gave his name, should have written it down. He didn't ask for me or my husband by name so I don't think he had that information. He went on to ask about a vehicle we sold late last year and said we had a warranty. He asked how many miles we had on it. I told him we sold it over 6 months ago.
"Oh really, what did you get for it?"
I said "Excuse me.."
"What did you get for it?" I asked why he wanted to know.
He said "Never mind then, F---ing mean!" and hung up.
Whoever these people are, they are not professionals and not adverse to using profanity.
