Had some guy call me from windows support his name or the name he gave me was Petter I told him I had no internet so he simply ask to call him back at 347-332-1135
I had some guy call me claiming to be from Microsoft who was calling because they had received a lot of error messages from my computer. He told me to click on the Microsoft Flags key while hitting "R" then type in "eventvwr" which was supposed to prove he was from Microsoft. Anybody who knows computers could have known what hitting the keys he specified would bring up. It proved nothing. The whole call smelled fishy and I asked him why I should give him control of my computer...anybody could claim to be a technician...everybody has thousands of errors showing.
He didn't have a good answer. I'm sure this was an attempted identity theft ruse.
Thank you for this. I just got this call from this number. The man sounded foreign. How does HE know if I get error messages or not. Good thing I was suspicious!
