I got an email threatening to take me to court concerning a bill that I owe.   I know a great deal amount concerning my legal rights and this is a scam.

Received the same email for ACE CASH SERVICES via yahoo mail (which I am dropping) with what looked like a "legal document" claiming that my social security number has been placed on hold.  It further states the loan is 60 days past due.  Interesting as myself nor my significant other has taken a loan out in almost 2 years.
The tell tail sign of it being a falsehood is the "legal document" does not list an individual's name, then at the end of the document it's copyrighted.. No such thing.
It further goes to say you owe so much and then threaten you need to pay or should it go to court it's 4 times the amount above the amount they claim is owed.
The phone number they list  (347) 468-8983 is listed online as Smith Dehn India. Their motto? "Law Without Borders".
Do yourselves a favor, continue to check your credit score. If you have taken out a Pay Day Loan or online loan of any kind, these companies will try in every way to scam you through other firms by passing off your information.

First of all when you do call back this number an Indian sounding person answers. The biggest scams are coming out of India. The US Gov't doesn't get involved with pay day loan cases, this is only done thru the local police. So on your emails its signed by the US Attorney  (doesn't get involved), UNITED LEGAL INVESTIGATION BUREAU- has anybody in the United States heard of this agency?  Check it out it goes back to the ACE company, Anybody who is going to be tried by a court, well you have to have papers served against you and its not done by email.  Also payday loan companies sell of their mailing/client list to anybody/scam artist who want them, then you get the emails that are scams.  Anybody want to reply can email me at [email protected]. I can tell you some other scams to watch out for.

For the above message regarding selling client list, that includes all your personel and banking information. That's why the scams know you information.
