I received a call from 347 474 3945 at 6:00 am California time! These scam people should be ashamed of themselves-e-same scam saying to call regarding our account per the state attorney general
This number was listed as the call back number in a voicemail I received from a Homestead FL number. As the Homestead FL number was reported numerious times, I suspect this number will lead to some kind of scam as well.
Said it was about legal issues with my account and something about the attorney general and it must be resolved immediately. Then told to call back this number. No mention of what organization.
These a**holes called me at 645am this morning and woke me up. #1 rule, NEVER wake me up otherwise there will be hell to pay. I called them back 10 times in a row and told them to %$^& off until they stopped answering their phone. They kept answering as US Treasury Department, based in NY. TOTAL SCAM
I, too, was awakened by this "urgent" call at 6:48am Seattle time and again at 9:46am. I can see how this message might really rattle someone receiving this call--especially the unsuspecting elderly. There's no doubt in my mind that this is a total scam, Having caller ID/call waiting and an answering machine, I do not answer calls out of area, private caller, area codes outside my state, or even numbers I don't recognize in my state. Instead, I expect that if the call is important, the caller will leave a message on my answering machine. The creeps!
