Got a call from this number, caller ID said New York, NY. I answered as I had a few calls out state wide. Indian woman who I could barely understand and lots of background talking telling me my computer was showing suspicious activity and I risked losing my confidential information. I replied, oh thank you for letting me know and hung up.
Anton, I know you're frustrated but the best way to stop these scammers is to take control of your phone. If you have a landline get a call blocker. They are inexpensive and work very well. If the scammers are calling your cell, download a call blocking app. 800 notes has many discussions about the pros and cons of different models of call blockers. Just put "call blockers" or "call blocking apps" into the search box and you'll find several forums. You can always come to 800 notes and look up numbers that appear on your call blocker to see if there is any information about the caller. YOU are the only one who can stop unwanted calls to your phone. No one at 800 notes can do that for you.
I had the identical situation except that they planted a start up password in my computer and whitened up my screen after I refused to pay $55/year virus protection software. The words turned into very threaten tone, saying that, You want your computer to crash? Ok, you got it! These guys are criminals. Now, my computer is dead as well without password.
